Ryan’s passion for fitness started at five years old with flag football. He excelled in the sport throughout high school and played in the McDonald’s Lehigh Valley All-Star Football Classic. Along with football, Ryan also participated in wrestling and track and field.
Ryan was a freshman in college at the time of the 9/11 attacks. A few days later, he withdrew himself and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After boot camp in Parris Island, Ryan completed infantry school and was stationed with 3rd battalion 6th Marines Lima Company. He is an OIF/OEF combat veteran and completed multiple tours in Afghanistan. The lessons he learned in the Marines instilled valuable qualities in him such as discipline, hard work ethic, camaraderie, and dedication. All of these qualities not only made him a great Marine, but also help to make him a great CrossFit trainer.
Ryan returned home and was struggling to get back into civilian life. While trying to pull himself out of a dark place dealing with some addiction issues, he heard about CrossFit. After a tough WOD(workout), he was ready to see where he could take himself through CrossFit! CrossFit was, and still is (5 years later), everything Ryan could hope for, and not just in a workout routine, but in a dramatic lifestyle change. So much has happened since he found CrossFit, and he is passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience to help others, especially under served youth in the community that need the help most.
Melanie LeBlanc – Director of Programming
- CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
- CrossFit Level 2 Trainer
- CrossFit Olympic Lifting Certification
Being a mom of 3 amazing bundles of energy, Melanie needed “me time” – something to look forward to every day that was out of the ordinary. CrossFit quickly became a passion. It gave her strength, not only physical, but mental strength as well.
CrossFit took Melanie from where she was and brought her back to the person she felt she'd lost. With an attention to detail coaching, “playing”, and judging has become second nature to her.
Melanie grew up on a hobby farm in BC, Canada. The only “exercise program” she had was doing chores: milking cows, cleaning chicken pens, mending fences, picking rocks out of the fields, gardening… farm life. Her motto: If something needs doing – do it!
